On Wednesday, the University of St. Francis' Marian Hall played host to the first of the "Healthy Body-Healthy Mind" series coordinated by Jim Kubalewski. "The Balancing Act," discussion led by Dr. Donald Maier of the Department of Business, dealt with assisting college students to find a balance amid the technologies, events, clubs, friends, and other demands on their time and energy. A student panel of Gina Aliosio, Brian Quane, Barb Koziol and James Green assisted in explaining practical approaches to multi-tasking and supplied strategies to prevent stress.

The next session, taking place on Feburary 18 in Marian Hall, will deal with students' body image. The program will attempt to reconcile what the marketing world tells consumers is a beautiful body and reality. Discussion of several short films will be led by Dr. Richard Vaughan and Professor Terre Rosner.

The third session, on March 10, will be highlighted by a visit from researcher Dr. Donna Freitas, author of "Sex and the Soul." She will be discussing her study on sexual perceptions and actions of students from various colleges and universities. She will present potential long-term results of today's "hook-up" culture.

The final session, scheduled for April 19 in the Abbey Lounge, will discuss intimacy. "The program is designed to help those who attend to clarify what we are searching for in relationships and how to achieve it," says Kubalewski in the "Healthy Body-Healthy Mind Series" flyer.
Students are welcomed and encouraged to attend any or all sessions.
