Spring Break Is Here

Staff writer, Steve Larson discusses some possible spring break destinations

Spring Break is almost here! We have almost hit the halfway mark of this semester and most are ready for a much-needed vacation. It is hard to focus on tests, classes and projects when the weather starts getting better. A week of fun in the sun is what every overworked student needs.

The South Side Irish Parade started as a family friendly festival over 31 years ago. Its main purpose was to celebrate and learn more about the traditions of Irish heritage. However, over these 31 years it has transformed in to a large display of drunkenness around the Beverly neighborhood.

Estephany Gironda is one of our foreign exchange students here at USF. She is joining us from Sucre, Bolivia. "Believe it or not this was the first time that I've gone out from my country. The travel was very tiring, scaring, and exciting at the same time," said Gironda.

You spoke, we listened. Many of us are tired of hearing, reading, and seeing H1N1 warnings, notices, and news broadcasts. Maladies such as Mad Cow Disease, Avian Bird Flu, and swine flu (aka H1N1) have run rampant and unopposed over society's communications for years.
