Just over one month ago, on Friday, March 20th, Joliet's Empress Casino caught fire in a blaze that lasted for more than 11 hours. Officials say that the fire was caused by a spark from one of their welder's torches. The casino was in the midst of a $50 million expansion, when the blaze set them back $340 million in fire damages. (0) comments

As the semester ends, seniors have one thing on their mind; graduation. The final event that takes them out of college into the real working world. The ceremony will take place on May 9th in the Recreation Center at the University of St. Francis. Graduates' ceremony will begin at 9:45am and the undergraduate ceremony will follow at 2:45pm. The University of St. Francis P3 team (People, Prosperity, Planet) took part in the National Sustainable Design Expo and Awards Competition April 18-20, 2009 on the National Mall in Washington DC. Though they had an excellent project and presented their information very well, the USF P3 team was not one of the finalists in the awards competition. (0) comments
